Meet Our Scholars: Voices of Hope from Elias and Emily

At Future of Honduran Youth (FOHY), nothing inspires us more than the determination and dreams of our students. This year, we are incredibly proud to support our first university scholars as they begin their journey toward higher education through our partnership with UTH and Honduras Corea.

Today, we invite you to hear directly from two of our recent graduates and scholarship recipients, Elias Samuel Ortega Lopez and Emily Ester Hernandez Perdomo.

In these brief videos, they share their stories, the impact of this scholarship on their lives, and their hopes for the future.

Elias Samuel Ortega Lopez

Elias, a graduate of Honduras Corea, expresses his gratitude for the opportunity to pursue his 4-year college degree at UTH. His determination to build a better future for himself and his family is a powerful testament to the importance of educational support.

Emily Ester Hernandez Perdomo

Emily shares her personal journey from Honduras Corea to becoming a FOHY scholar at UTH. Her story highlights the transformative power of education and the hope that this scholarship has brought to her life.

Investing in Their Dreams

Elias and Emily, along with our third recipient, Emelyn, are trailblazers. By supporting them, we are investing in a brighter future for Honduras. This historic first scholarship awarding, which took place on December 18, 2025, with the attendance of the Mayor of San Pedro Sula and the President of UTH, marked a significant milestone in our mission.

Congratulations, Elias and Emily! We are excited to watch you thrive at UTH and make your dreams a reality.
